A Word About Life and Things

Why Am I Here?

Why am I here? Many people have asked themselves that question. They want to know the purpose of their being here on earth. We all have a hole in our soul that needs to be filled. We try many things to fill it. We party, we use sex, we drink to excess, we will use anything to fill that void in our soul.

We are like two year old children; we want to do it ourselves. We try with all our might, to do the things we want by ourselves. We ignore God and go our own way. We may make a lot of money, we may become famous, we do everything within our power to accomplish our goal in life by ourselves. But, when we do attain our goal, we are not happy. We still feel that there is more we should do, to make ourselves happy. After we do all that we can do, we realize that we still don’t know why we are here. The things we thought that would make us happy, did not come true. We still have not accomplished what we thought we would. We still have a hole in our soul. We wonder what we have missed in our search for fulfillment.

God said “everyone who is called by My name, whom I have created for My glory; I have formed him, yes I have made him.” We are created by God for His glory. Not ourselves. We are here to honor Him and to have a relationship, with Him. He is the only one, where that hole in our soul can be filled. God has given us everything that we have. He has given us Life. He has given us salvation through Jesus. He gives us our gifts and our talents. There is nothing that we have that God has not given to us. Everything comes from Him. We will not find fulfillment with anything on this earth. We cannot reach fulfillment without God. He gives us peace in our soul, and our living from day to day. The hole in our soul is now filled with His peace, that only comes from God.
