A Word About Life and Things

The Rest of The Story

Joseph had a dream that his father, mother, and his 11 brothers would bow down to him. Of course his brothers did not like him for that. His brothers threw him into a pit, and they wanted to kill him. They eventually sold him as a slave to the Ishmaelites. The Ishmaelites sold him to Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh. God was faithful to Joseph, and Joseph found favor with Potiphar. Potiphar made Joseph an overseer of his entire house. Joseph was #2 man in the house of Potiphar.

Joseph was wrongfully accused and was thrown into prison. Joseph had favor with the keeper of the prison, and he was placed in authority of the entire prison. Joseph was made #2 man of the entire prison. God痴 favor was on Joseph, in everything he did.

Now for the rest of the story. Joseph interpreted the dreams of two prisoners. One prisoner was executed, and the second prisoner was released and given back his job. When Pharaoh had a dream, that no one could interpret, the man that had been released from prison, told Pharaoh about Joseph. Joseph interpreted the dream for Pharaoh, and was made the #2 man (The Prime Minister) in all of Egypt.

We all go through things in this life; we feel like God is not there when we need Him. We have problems with our families, our jobs, our bodies, and many other things. But, if we are serving God and honoring Him in everything we do, then we will have a peace, and a resting place in our God. The rest of the story has not yet been told.

No matter all of my faults and the sins I do. The rest of my story is this. My God is in control of my future, He will bring to pass all that He wants to accomplish in my life. He will not fail to bring to pass everything He wants me to do in my life. He has given me authority over my enemies, He has made me a conqueror over everything in my path. I am a man or woman of God, and I will honor Him, and serve Him with all of my heart, and give Him the glory for everything in my life. That is the rest of my story!

      New King James Version
Genesis 37:27 "Come and let us sell him to the Ishmaelites, and let not our hand be upon him, for he is our brother and our flesh." And his brothers listened.
28 Then Midianite traders passed by; so the brothers pulled Joseph up and lifted him out of the pit, and sold him to the Ishmaelites for twenty shekels of silver. And they took Joseph to Egypt.

      New King James Version
Genesis 37:36 Now the Midianites had sold him in Egypt to Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh and captain of the guard.

      New King James Version
Genesis 39:2 The LORD was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.
3 And his master saw that the LORD was with him and that the LORD made all he did to prosper in his hand.
4 So Joseph found favor in his sight, and served him. Then he made him overseer of his house, and all that he had he put under his authority.
5 So it was, from the time that he had made him overseer of his house and all that he had, that the LORD blessed the Egyptian's house for Joseph's sake; and the blessing of the LORD was on all that he had in the house and in the field.
6 Thus he left all that he had in Joseph's hand, and he did not know what he had except for the bread which he ate. Now Joseph was handsome in form and appearance.

     New King James Version
Genesis 39:21 But the LORD was with Joseph and showed him mercy, and He gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison.
22 And the keeper of the prison committed to Joseph's hand all the prisoners who were in the prison; whatever they did there, it was his doing.
23 The keeper of the prison did not look into anything that was under Joseph's authority, because the LORD was with him; and whatever he did, the LORD made it prosper.

      New King James Version
Genesis 41:39 Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, "Inasmuch as God has shown you all this, there is no one as discerning and wise as you.
40 "You shall be over my house, and all my people shall be ruled according to your word; only in regard to the throne will I be greater than you."
41 And Pharaoh said to Joseph, "See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt."
42 Then Pharaoh took his signet ring off his hand and put it on Joseph's hand; and he clothed him in garments of fine linen and put a gold chain around his neck.
