A Word About Life and Things

One Thing

Jesus was at Mary and Martha’s house and was teaching. Mary was sitting and enjoying the teaching of the Lord. Martha was serving the people, and was frustrated that Mary was not helping her. She complained to Jesus. Jesus said that Mary had chosen the good part (the one thing) and it should not be taken from her.

We are all busy doing what needs to be done. We get up each morning , eat breakfast, go to work, come home, eat supper, then we go to the club, or the school play. We do that every day; again and again. We are so busy that we do not have time for God. We are missing the One Thing that is the most important thing in our life. What is our standing with God? Do we know Him? Where are we going to spend eternity? Eternity is a long time, that never ends. Where are we going to be? There is Heaven and there is Hell. We stand in the middle; and God says to choose? Where do you want to go?

We miss the One Thing that is the most important thing to us, Our Soul. God made us, He breathed life into us, He gave us a soul that will never die. One hundred billion years from now, we still will be here. The only question will be, is where will you be? The choice is not God’s choice to make. The choice is ours to make. God sets before us life or death, then He says to choose life. What are we going to choose? Do we choose the One Thing that gives us life? Or do we choose death (Hell)? Jesus came to this earth and died for us. He took our place. The only thing we can do is to choose Jesus for our salvation. To make no choice, is to choose death. God loves us more than we can imagine. He is not willing that we should die. He wants us to live with Him for eternity. That is the reason He sent His Son into this world, that we may live. Choose the One thing that will save you: Jesus.

John 9:24 So they again called the man who was blind, and said to him, "Give God the glory! We know that this Man is a sinner."
25 He answered and said, "Whether He is a sinner or not I do not know. One thing I know: that though I was blind, now I see."

Philippians 3:10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death,
11 if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.
12 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.
13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,
14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Psalms 27:4 One thing I have desired of the LORD, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD, And to inquire in His temple.
