Sticks and Stones
Kids are always calling each other names. It seems
all kids do the same things. We would come back at
them by saying sticks and stones may break my
bones, but words will never harm me. I wish that
was true. But words are more powerful that any stick
or stone. It would be better to have a broken bone.
Words have destroyed more marriages than we can imagine. Many kids have grown up with hurts to their souls, because of words spoken to them by their loved ones. We can ignore the words of a stranger, but the words spoken by our loved ones, in our families hurt worse than any other person. Words have the power of life and death. Our words are the most powerful tool we have. We can stop the Devil in his tracks. We, as Christians, have been given the power over our enemies. They cannot bother us, if we will speak against them, and tell them to leave. They have to leave in seven different ways. In this Earthly realm there are six different ways they can go. The seventh way is in the spiritual realm. We also can speak life into our situations and into the people around us. We can speak blessings on anyone. In fact we should be blessing everyone we come into contact with. The enemy is always trying to put anything he can on us and the people around us. We need to lift up our Pastor, our children, our spouse and anyone we know who is going through times of trials and tribulations. We are here on this earth to do the will of the Father and not ourselves. We are all ministers unto God. We are here to help those around us. We have Gods help and authority to make peoples lives a better place, by helping our neighbors to know God , by the way we love each other. We have no time to wag our tongues against anyone. We are here to do the will of God, by blessing others, with the words we speak. New King James Version Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit. New King James Version James 3:5 Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles! 3:6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell. New King James Version James 3:8 But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. New King James Version Philippians 2:9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. |
