A Word About Life and Things

 No Sweat

When Gideon was going up against the Midianites. he had 32,000 men with him. God told him that he had too many men. Gideon told the men that were afraid to go home. 22,000 men went home, Gideon had 10,000 men. God said that he still had too many men and told him to separate the men who drank water from the river by drinking with their cupped hands and those who drank by putting mouth to the water. Now he had just 300 men. The Midianties were overcome by the 300 men using a trumpet, and a torch and a shout. The enemy had killed themselves. Gideon’s men did not break into a sweat.

During World War II, there was a bomber that had completed it’s mission and was heading back to it’s base, in the western Pacific Ocean. They were running out of fuel and had to land on a beach of an Island. The island was occupied by the Japanese. They had a priest on board, and he told the crew that he would pray that God would help them get off that Island. They all slept that night. Very early the next morning while it was still dark. a man from the crew was walking on the beach when he noticed something bobbing in the surf, and went to investigate. What he found was a large barrel with a label that said Aviation Fuel. He got the crew members up and they put the Aviation Fuel in the plane and took off.

There was a ship and had been sunk by the Japanese more than 1,000 miles away. That barrel of fuel had traveled more than a 1,000 miles and did not land on another Island, but came ashore at the right place where it was needed. The crew did not have to sweat.

There are times in life when we come up against things that we cannot fix ourselves. We have many problems that come our way, and there is nothing we can do. We may have cancer, that Doctors’ cannot fix. There are other problems that need a lot of money to fix, and we don’t have any, and cannot borrow. We come up against things we cannot do ourselves. The enemy (Devil) whispers in our ear “what are you going to do”? We kept saying that our selves. What are we going to do? Over and over and over. What are we going to do? In time of Crisis many people run away. Some leave their spouse. Some will leave their church. When my Brother’s wife left him, he drove a 1,000 miles to where we live. He stayed one night, then drove back the next day. We get nowhere when we run away.

There is only one thing we must do, and that is put our trust in the Lord. The Devil is always trying to put things on us, he has success, when we run around like a chicken that was been beheaded. When God is in control of our lives we have a peace that nothing and no-one can give. We are at peace when we let God have our problems. God has said “I will bring the blind by a way they did not know; I will lead them in paths they have not known. I will make darkness light before them, and crooked places straight. These things I will do for them, And not forsake them”. Let God have control of your life, and He will not forsake you. He is with us in everything we do. We put our trust in the Lord and we depend on Him for everything. We don’t have to worry and sweat about our problems.
