A Word About Life and Things

Measure of a Man

Today I am going to talk about us guys. Guys are very competitive. They strive to be at the top of the heap, in everything they do. They race stock cars and formula one race cars and do their best to be in first place. They climb the highest mountains, just for the bragging rights. In fact the most things they do is for the bragging rights. When men get together they want to know what the other person does for a living. They talk about cars, sports, and hunting. They are in a world of their own.

What is the Measure of a Man? It is not what he does for a living. The greatest men are the ones that submit themselves to God, and does the will of the Father. He is a man of humility, He humbles himself before God. He honors God in everything He does. He is a gentleman, just like his Heavenly Father, His Heavenly Father will not force us to do anything. He just asked us to do things for Him. He is the husband of one woman. He keeps his marriage vows to his spouse, and he honors his spouse. He is a man who keeps his word, when he says he will do something. He is a man who loves the world, and does his best to lead people to their Redeemer. He has put off the things of his childhood and is becoming more like Jesus Christ, everyday. He is a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. To sum up the Measure of a Man, he does whatever God asks him to do, in humility to the Lord.

      New King James Version
Ephesians 4:11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers,
12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,
 13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;
14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting,

      New King James Version
1 John 4:8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.
9 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.
10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
12 No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us.
13 By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit.
14 カ And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world.
15 Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.
16 And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.
17 カ Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.
18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.
19 We love Him because He first loved us.
