A Word About Life and Things

Santa

A few years ago a friend of mine, Len Wright, was asked to meet a man on his plane at the Palm Beach International Airport. The man asked my friend if he would like to play Santa at the Macy’s Department Store in New York City. My friend has a potbelly and a white beard and has played Santa before. He said, "yes" and was given a check for $50,000 and was flown to New York on the man’s plane. He went to New York for several years, to play Santa, and was sponsored by the same man.

While my friend was playing Santa, a family from Mexico consisting of three kids, a mom, and a dad came to visit Santa. They explained that they were visiting New York and had found Jesus, and the whole family was saved. The kids wanted to visit Santa, to ask him if he knew Jesus also. He answered and said, “yes, I know Jesus.”

The Christmas season is a busy time of the year. We are rushing around buying presents, decorating our houses and Christmas trees, and going to parties. We forget what Christmas is all about. We focus on the fun that we are having. We forget that Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus.

Jesus was God and came to earth as a man. He felt everything that we feel. He was also tempted like we are, but He did not sin. When He went to the cross, He took our sins upon Himself and he died in our place. He arose on the third day. He also took the keys to death and hell. He is not a babe in a manger. He is our Savior. We honor Him when we give our lives to Him.

      New King James Version
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
17 "For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
