A Word About Life and Things

Love

Love can be very selective. We choose to love a certain woman or a certain man, to spend our lives with. But what is love? I have seen people talk about the preacher after a church service. Others gossip about people and relatives. I have heard it said that people love their relatives but at a distance. Like maybe the next state.

But what about God’s love for us? He loves everyone without any reservations. How much does God love us? He sent his Son to die in our place that we may live with Him for eternity. Concerning pastors and preachers, they are God’s anointed and we should not talk about them. Saul was trying to kill David. But David said that he would not touch God’s anointed, so we must also love God’s anointed (Pastors, Preachers, Teachers. Etc).

What about other Christians? Can we talk about them and gossip about them? Is gossiping about another person OK? NO, We must love our brothers and sisters in Christ because they are also God’s anointed.

What about the unbelievers? They see God when we show our love to one another. God says to love your enemies; to go the extra mile, to give more than asked for. So we must show love to those around us. We cannot hate anyone on this earth. We reflect God’s love for everyone. Because God is love we must become more and more like Him every day.

      New King James Version
1 John 4:7 ¶ Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.
8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.
9 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.
